How to Create a Website
So decision has been made. You need a website.
But what now?
TALK TO US!
BE INFORMED
It's a minefield out there when it comes to getting a website built. Often a cheaper alternative to begin with can end up costing a fortune! We know! Because we are the people they come to when it needs fixing!
Over the past decade of trade in the web business we have seen clients often get taken for a ride. It's not our style AND we don't like it! That's why we joined the Australian Web Industry Association a few years ago, because we want to protect the integrity of the web.

Before you speak to us though, it's always good to get a little background information. So we have explained below the initial process.
Register
The first thing to do is choose a website name, also called a domain name, and register it. A domain is basically an address on the web. It is where your website is located and where you can receive your dedicated email. Only use an official accredited registrar, or a reseller of theirs to register domains. Or for complete peace of mind have Attitude register your domain for you through a reputable domain registrar and then let us take care of your domain administration.
Content & Design
Now is the time to start planning your website. The look and feel of your site is reflected through the design not by the design, so it's important to consider:
- What is the goal of my site? To sell, display, inform, share, interact or promote?
- What is my target audience? Subscribers, the general public, friends, community members, family, hobbyists or prospective employers?
- How is everyone going to find my site? You will want other websites of the same genre to link back to you. You may want to include a link to your website in any digital signatures, email, or promote your site on online groups or forums.
- How can we make our website different from the rest? By getting it custom built. A custom built website reflects your business or personal branding. The cheaper alternative is to buy a generic template from us & have your header customized instead.
- How will I know that my website is accessible & built to web standards? If your a new client to Attitude, we will provide you with a brief report on completion of your project. If you already have a website we can provide you with a website review which includes a brief report on your website accessibility & if it adheres to web standards.
- Whats is the difference between a mobile ready & a mobile compatible website? A mobile ready website can be made mobile compatible. A mobile compatible website can already be viewed on mobile devices. With the world population venturing more into mobile technology, having a mobile compatible website is a must!
Website Hosting
You will need to pay to have your website hosted on the internet. Visitors access the website through the web host’s computer, where all of your files are stored. It's a bit like renting land to build your website on.
