Browser Downloads and Updates
It's important to keep your browser software up-to-date so that you are protected from vulnerabilities & security risks. By upgrading you also have better access to website features that you previously were unable to utilize. By using old out-dated web browsers you will be missing out on website features available to other users. You also risk having pages break, websites not perform, and be at greater risk from malicious software.
Most major browser software companies cease support for outdated browsers. Microsoft continues to support IE6 even though it lacks web standards support & has compatability issues. There is a strong movement to abolish support for IE6 because of these issues.

Safari is the default browser for Apple Macs, and is also available for use with Windows operating systems. Safari is one of the leaders in a web standards based Internet & has adopted an active role in defining web standards and accessibility for users. Safari was the first browser to bring a new level of interactivity to the web.
